BEIJING - TJ Leaf's near triple-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists helped the Beijing Ducks edge out the Qingdao Eagles 92-90, and the Guangdong Southern Tigers rallied past the Jilin Northeast Tigers 121-113 in the 41st round of Chinese Basketball Association (CBA League) on Saturday.
Despite the Eagles ranking high in sixth and the Ducks only 12th and on the fringe of the playoffs, their past 10 matches against each other have resulted in five wins and five losses each.
A face-off between China's future national team stars Zeng Fanbo and Yang Hansen further spiced up the match, while backcourt lines from both sides stole the show. Lei Meng contributed 16 points for Beijing, with Tian Yuxiang and Fang Shuo adding 15 and nine points, respectively. Qingdao's Stefan Moody led his team with 25 points, while Myles Powell contributed 18.

Zeng Fanbo, despite scoring a team-high 20 points in his previous game, managed only seven points and three rebounds this time, struggling to find his rhythm. In another key game, Tremont Waters and Zhou Qi's contributions of 24 and 19 points, respectively, were crucial in Guangdong's victory against Jilin. Ren Junfei's double-double and Hu Mingxuan's 15 points also played significant roles for the Southern Tigers. Jilin's standout performer, OJ Peterson, exploded for 52 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.

The round also saw the Shanghai Sharks outlasting the Shandong Heroes 123-116, the Liaoning Flying Leopards staging a comeback to defeat the Guangzhou Loong Lions 109-103, and the Zhejiang Golden Bulls securing a win against the Jiangsu Dragons 107-88.
