HONG KONG – A bunch of football legends including Michael Owen, Luis Figo and Paul Scholes will feature at the World Football Masters Cup 2024 in Hong Kong on Jan 20. The first large-scale friendly football match in Hong Kong after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Masters Cup will present the city’s football fans with a match made up of three 30-minute sessions.

English superstars Owen and Scholes will lead their respective teams, comprising over 20 local and international legendary football players. Ticket prices range from HK$280 ($35.8) to HK$980. Students and senior visitors can buy a ticket for HK$100.

Unleashing creativity

The 22nd Macao City Fringe Festival – scheduled to be held from Jan 17 to 28 – will present 17 performances and a host of outreach activities.

The festival will have three sessions of workshops, encouraging children, parents, and other participants to create unique artworks with various mediums such as clay and wood, which will be exhibited at the “Art Exhibition for All”.

Smart taxi meter

The first smart taxi meter named “CabCab” will be launched on Monday in Hong Kong, where commuters can currently pay for taxi rides only in cash.

The rollout of CabCab is in line with the Hong Kong government’s drive to promote digital payment.

Global commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield will release its Greater Bay Area Residential and Investment Market 2023 Review and 2024 Outlook on Jan 18.

The report will measure how current market factors, such as loan interest rates, exchange rates, and purchase restrictions, impact the GBA residential and investment market, and which types of properties in the city cluster have higher appreciation potential.
