More than simply a hotel, it has been part of the girls’ childhood and holds countless cherished memories for the whole family. From their first stay to their many return visits, it is the cast members’ warm, attentive hospitality and the unexpected moments of magic that continue to bring them back.
What Eva treasures most is not the detailed arrangements, but the personal touches of Cast Members who remember guests’ names and preferences. She recalled that Karaes and Jacy were always filled with excitement throughout every stay, from the moment they arrive at the hotel lobby to the moment they opened the door to their room. Over the years, many Cast Members have come to know the family by name and even remember the sisters’ favorite Disney friends, taking the initiative to engage with them and make each visit special. During hotel workshops, cast members would also take great care of the girls, helping them fully immerse themselves in every experience. From pastry apprentice to chef de partie, creating magical moments for guests
Ki discovered her passion for pastry while studying history at university. Twelve years ago, she joined the pastry team at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel in an entry-level position, turning her passion into a career. Supported and mentored by experienced team members, she developed her skills in cake and dessert making. She later took another important step in her career by joining Disney Explorers Lodge and contributing to its opening preparations.
Throughout her 12-year journey, Ki has grown from mastering the fundamentals of pastry-making to understanding how a thoughtfully crafted dessert can make a celebration even more meaningful. In 2017, she and a teammate won a silver award at the Hong Kong Fonterra Bakery Competition for an innovative dessert that was later introduced at the hotel. For Ki, the greatest satisfaction was not winning the award, but seeing her creation shared with guests and becoming a memorable part of their cherished hotel experience.
Recently, Ki helped create the newly launched birthday cake, “Traveler,” one of the most challenging projects she has worked on. Designed as a suitcase-shaped chocolate layer cake with weathered details, the cake reflects the spirit of exploration. Its opening lid adds a surprise element, building anticipation for the celebration and cake-cutting moment.
Ki’s progression from aspiring pastry enthusiast to Chef de Partie reflects what can be achieved through passion and a commitment to continuous learning. Today, she contributes to product development and menu creation, and her journey demonstrates not only her professional growth but also embodies the hotel and Food & Beverage team’s commitment of nurturing talents, fostering innovation, and achieving success together.
