NEW DELHI – An Air India co-pilot was suspended after he failed a pre-flight alcohol test shortly before a flight at Zurich Airport earlier this month, local television news channel NDTV said in a report on Friday.

According to the news channel, the pilot was removed from the aircraft before the takeoff to New Delhi after authorities suspected he had consumed alcohol.

The incident comes weeks after another pilot of the airline had tested positive for marijuana following a Phuket-Delhi flight.

Last month, Air India ordered a mandatory dope test for all its pilots days after the Phuket-to-New Delhi flight fiasco.
