Profits of China's major industrial firms up 18.7% in H1

BEIJING – Profits of China's industrial firms above designated size increased 18.7 percent year-on-year during the first half (H1) of 2026, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

These industrial firms with an annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (about $2.95 million) saw their combined profits reach 3.95 trillion yuan in the January-June period, according to the data.
