
China is sending a team of medical experts to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to help the country tackle a new Ebola outbreak, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the announcement at a regular press briefing, stating that the assistance is part of China's support for African nations in fighting the epidemic.

On top of bilateral aid, China will also provide assistance to the African Union Commission and carry out cooperation on epidemic prevention and control to support the work of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, jointly enhancing African countries' capacity to combat the outbreak, Lin said.
