Graduates of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) showcase their creativity in a graduation show that delves into the paradox of personal identity in a world that demands conformity.
“I know,
The world will not save me a perfect place.
Growing up, always comes up with
constant adjustment and changes.
But I still hope –
Not to become the correct ‘pin’ –
But in the ever changing dynamics,
To find a place I can call mine.”
The statement appears in a post introducing the exhibition on the WeChat public account of the GAFA Art Museum.
The exhibition kicked off on Tuesday, with the undergraduate show running through June 27 at the University Town campus, while graduate works occupy the Changgang campus during the same period.
China Daily photographer Parker Zheng offers, through his lens, a glimpse into the young artists’ imagination.
