By Mo Jingxi

As the host of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in 2026, China will hold the second APEC Senior Officials' Meeting in Shanghai from Monday to Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Thursday.

Speaking at a regular news briefing, Guo said the meeting will take stock of APEC cooperation at the year's midpoint, gather early harvests, and lay the groundwork for activities in the second half of the year, as well as deliverables for the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.

Ahead of the senior officials' meeting, APEC committees and working groups will engage in nearly 40 meetings from Monday to Sunday, covering areas including trade and investment, economic and technical cooperation, women, telecommunications and food security, he said.
