MOSCOW - A security zone on the Russia-Ukraine border is gradually being created, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.

"This is the security zone that we are talking about. It is being created gradually in the border area. We will continue to act in this way until we eliminate threats to our border regions," Putin said at a meeting with heads of Russian municipal authorities.
