
KYIV / MOSCOW / ANKARA -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that the United States has proposed holding another round of talks involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia next week.
According to the Ukrinform news agency, Zelensky said that the meeting was postponed by the US side and would depend on developments in the Middle East, adding that the talks were originally planned to take place on Tuesday or Wednesday in Türkiye.
Earlier on Tuesday, Zelensky said on social media that he had spoken with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the situation in Iran. Erdogan said Türkiye was ready to host the next round of trilateral talks among Ukraine, the United States and Russia, Zelensky said, adding that Ukraine welcomed the proposal.

Erdogan urges Ukraine peace talks to continue
According to a statement from the Turkish presidency, Erdogan urged Zelensky on Tuesday not to let the escalating US-Israeli military campaign against Iran derail efforts to end the war in Ukraine, calling for peace negotiations to resume "without delay."

In a phone call, Erdogan said the conflict involving Iran "should not disrupt the search for peace in Ukraine". He reiterated Ankara's readiness to provide "all necessary support" for any steps toward ending the nearly three-year war.
Erdogan also pressed for a ceasefire arrangement that would protect energy infrastructure and ports, framing such measures as essential to building trust between Kyiv and Moscow and advancing broader regional stability. He separately stressed that maritime security in the Black Sea remains a critical priority for Türkiye.
Missile attack in Russia's Bryansk region
Six people were killed and 37 others injured in a missile attack in Russia's border region of Bryansk, governor Alexander Bogomaz said Tuesday.
All the injured have been taken to the regional hospital, where they are receiving necessary medical care, Bogomaz said in a post on Telegram.
