
HONG KONG - China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government on Thursday reminded Hong Kong residents to attend to personal safety when traveling to Japan.
Regarding the attack on a Hong Kong resident in Japan, the Immigration Department of the HKSAR government has immediately approached the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the HKSAR and the Chinese Consulate-General in Sapporo to understand the situation and follow up, and to provide practicable assistance according to the subject's wishes.

The HKSAR government said that it has already expressed concerns to the Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong, urging the Japanese government to ensure the personal safety of Hong Kong travelers in Japan in accordance with the law.
