
Both men's and women's events of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Rugby Sevens Competition in the 15th National Games started on Wednesday in Hong Kong. Over 230 athletes from 16 teams from the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Adminostrative Region will compete for honors, with the city sending 30 athletes.
In today's competition, the Hong Kong men's team triumphed over Shandong with a final score of 24-12. However, the Hong Kong women's team had a challenging start, as they were defeated by Sichuan with a final tally of 19-12.
Held at Kai Tak Stadium, the three-day competition will conclude on Nov 14, with two gold medals at stake. Following the round-robin matches, the four teams with the highest points will progress to the knockout rounds and the finals.
