
BEIJING -- Zhao Leji and Wang Huning, China's top legislator and top political advisor, on Monday called on their fellows to study and implement the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, which was held last week.
Zhao, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with NPC deputies who are sitting in on the ongoing session of the NPC Standing Committee.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks while addressing a meeting of the Chairperson's Council of the CPPCC National Committee.

The key Party plenum deliberated and adopted the Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development.
During Monday's meeting, Zhao called on legislators to fulfill their legislative responsibilities by contributing to the formulation and implementation of the plan. He also urged NPC deputies to begin preparations for next year's NPC session, which will deliberate and approve the plan.

Political advisors involved as well
The same day, Wang called on political advisors to apply the guiding principles of the key Party plenum when performing their duties, and to actively offer suggestions.

He urged them to ensure high-quality work this year, and to plan next year's work with a focus on the central tasks of the Party and the state.
He also said that they should contribute advice and strength to the formulation and implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).
