
In support of the 2025 National Games, the Hong Kong Science Museum (HKScM) launched an exhibition on Friday, offering a scientific perspective of various sports disciplines and the keys to success, seeking to deepen members of the public's understanding of sports science.
Titled "Bank of China (Hong Kong) Presents: National Development and Achievements Series - Approaching Perfection: The Intersection of Sports and Science", the exhibition presents the history of the National Games and the competition events to be held in Hong Kong during the upcoming edition of the National Games.
Bank of China (Hong Kong) is the title sponsor of the exhibition, which runs through Feb 25 next year, according to the BOCHK.
Featuring more than 20 interactive exhibits, the exhibition invites visitors to experience the essence and enjoyment of various sports, such as spin of rugby, jumps of beach volleyball, speed of track cycling, precision of golf, attacks in fencing, and defense in basketball. Visitors can also take part in fitness tests.

It covers sports psychology, sports medicine, and sports nutrition, facilitating members of the public to understand the concept of sports comprehensively and learn how to integrate sports into everyday life.

The HKScM will invite athletes to share experiences in their personal journeys, and organize a series of educational programs, including talks, workshops, and scientific demonstrations.
Addressing the opening ceremony on Thursday, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Warner Cheuk Wing-hing said the exhibition aims to showcase the country’s remarkable sports achievements, demonstrate how innovative technologies assist athletes to scale new heights, and encourage the public to develop a healthy and active lifestyle.

BOCHK is fully committed to supporting the successful launch of the National Games, BOCHK Deputy Chief Executive Stephen Chan Man said, adding that the bank has over 430 volunteers dedicated to offering assistance for the Games in Hong Kong in addition to sponsoring this exhibition and related activities.

The bank hopes the exhibition will inspire broader societal interest in sports science and allow the community to witness the resilient stories of Hong Kong athletes, he said.
Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Raistlin Lau Chun, Chairperson of the Science Sub-committee of the Museum Advisory Committee Professor Alexander Wai Ping-kong, Director of Leisure and Cultural Services Manda Chan Wing-man, Deputy Head of the National Games Coordination Office (Hong Kong) Cora Ho Lai-sheung, and HKScM Museum Director Patrick Lau Kai-ip were also among the officiating guests.
