MACAO - The 2025 Macao Open concluded on Sunday with a dramatic final round, as Germany's Dominic Foos edged out Wang Wei-hsuan of Chinese Taipei in a playoff to capture the championship title.
Taking home a cheque of $180,000 alongside the tournament trophy, Foos is the first German to win on the Asian Tour since Bernhard Langer in 1996.
Wang produced a flawless round of 62, featuring eight birdies, while Foos matched the momentum with a bogey-free 63 that included seven birdies. The pair had finished tied on 17 under.
In the playoff, both players made birdies on the first extra hole. On the second, Foos held his nerve to seal victory.
Remarking on playing in Macao during the post-game press conference, Foos said that he looked forward to coming back, having first played the course earlier this year and really liked the experience. “The course suits me really well, I guess. I know I’m always going to have a good chance. And yeah, I drove it really well this week”.
