Hong Kong’s Land Registry logged 6,870 sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in September, up 6.3 percent compared with those in August and 78.8 percent higher year-on-year, according to official data.
The total consideration for such agreements last month increased 11.9 percent from the previous month to HK$53.5 billion, representing a 93.4 percent rise year-on-year, data released on Friday showed.
Of the agreements, 5,643 were for residential units. This represents a 6.7 percent increase from August and a 98.1 percent rise over a year ago.

The total consideration for residential units was HK$47.2 billion, up 11.9 percent compared with that in August and 126.6 percent higher year-on-year.
Also, there were 401,196 land register searches last month, which marked a 3.2 percent increase compared with August and a 13.0 percent year-on-year increase, the data showed.
