HONG KONG – Four giant inflated versions of Labubu, Elmo, Grimace and Doraemon will float along Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour next month.
Hong Kong artist Lung Ka-sing’s elfin Labubu, a crossover between American artist Kaws and Sesame Street’s Elmo, Grimace, and the Japanese manga character Doraemon, will be inflated and displayed in the waters off Tamar Park near the government headquarters in Admiralty from Oct 25 to Nov 1.
The popular characters were brought to the Hong Kong Shipyard in North Tsing Yi for a sea trial preview on Saturday afternoon.
China Daily’s Andy Chong took the photos during the preview.
