Zelensky appoints new ambassador to US

KYIV - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday signed a decree appointing Olga Stefanishyna, former deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, as Ukraine's new ambassador to the United States.

Zelensky said on Telegram that he outlined key tasks for revitalizing the work of the Ukrainian embassy and that the main priority is to fully implement all agreements with US President Donald Trump, particularly in the defense sector.

Stefanishyna replaced Oksana Markarova, who had served as Ukraine's envoy to Washington since February 2021.
