KCNA: DPRK top leader meets commanding officers of army's overseas operation unit

PYONGYANG - The top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) met on Wednesday with the leading commanding officers of the overseas operation unit of the Korean People's Army, state media said Thursday.

Receiving a detailed report by the commanding officers at the headquarters building of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong-un, the Party's general secretary and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, said he "appreciated their feats of leading the combat units of our armed forces, which participated in the operations to liberate the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation, to victory," the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

"Our army is now doing what it ought to do and what needs to be done. It will do so in the future, too," Kim was quoted by KCNA as saying.
