HONG KONG - A spokesperson for the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Saturday expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to some foreign politicians for slandering the lawful law enforcement operations of the Hong Kong Police Force in issuing wanted notices for anti-China elements.

The spokesperson responded to the unwarranted slander by individual politicians and institutions from the United States, Britain, Australia and other countries against the lawful law enforcement operations of the Hong Kong Police Force in issuing wanted notices for anti-China troublemakers who disrupt Hong Kong, as well as their deliberate smearing of the national security law in Hong Kong and blatant interference in Hong Kong affairs and China's other internal affairs.

The spokesperson stated that the 19 anti-China troublemakers disrupting Hong Kong, including Yuan Gong-yi, who were listed as wanted this time, initiated illegal "Hong Kong Parliament" election activities with the aim of subverting state power. Their malicious acts have seriously violated the national security law in Hong Kong, severely challenged the bottom line of the "one country, two systems" principle, and gravely endangered national sovereignty, security and development interests.

The Hong Kong Police Force's lawful issuance of wanted notices for these anti-China troublemakers disrupting Hong Kong is a just act to uphold the rule of law in Hong Kong, a necessary measure to safeguard national sovereignty and security, and a legitimate step to ensure Hong Kong's long-term stability. It is in line with international law and common international practices, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson pointed out that the implementation of the national security law in Hong Kong has provided a solid guarantee for Hong Kong's long-term stability and the steady advancement of "one country, two systems".

Individual politicians from the United States, Britain and other countries wantonly interfered in Hong Kong affairs and China's other internal affairs, and openly stood up for anti-China troublemakers disrupting Hong Kong, fully exposing their hypocritical double standards and malicious intention of "using Hong Kong to contain China." Their despicable schemes are utterly disgraceful.

The office urged individual politicians and institutions to immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's other internal affairs.

China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on Saturday strongly disapproved of and opposed untrue and biased remarks by the British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and the British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper on HKSAR's lawful act to pursue wanted persons endangering national security absconding from Hong Kong.
