TOKYO - Eastern and Western Japan are experiencing intense heat, with some areas expected to reach temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has urged people to take precautions against heatstroke, as bodies are not yet adapted to the summer heat this early in the season.

As of Tuesday morning, many locations had already recorded temperatures above 30 degrees, including central Tokyo (30.0 degrees), marking the city's first midsummer day of the year.
Afternoon highs are forecasted to peak at 35 degrees in Chichibu, with many other cities also expecting extreme heat.
Meanwhile, northern Japan and parts of Amami in Kagoshima are facing unstable weather conditions, with warnings issued for thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, and sudden heavy rain.
