BEIJING - Both Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai Port secured wins Wednesday night as the seventh round of the 2025 Chinese Super League wrapped up.
Shenhua overcame an early deficit to defeat last-place Qingdao Hainiu 3-2.
The visitors got off to a dream start when Brazilian forward Wellington Silva scored just four minutes into the match. But Shenhua quickly responded, with defender Jiang Shenglong heading in from a corner three minutes later to equalize.
In the 17th minute, Andre Luis put Shenhua ahead with another goal from a corner. Hainiu fought back in the 26th minute when Elvis Saric converted a penalty to level the match at 2-2.
Midfielder Joao Teixeira secured the win for Shenhua in the 54th minute with a long-range strike - his 50th appearance for the club in the league.
The result leaves Hainiu with two draws and five losses, still in search of their first win of the season and rooted at the bottom of the table with relegation concerns mounting.
Elsewhere, Shanghai Port cruised to a 4-1 away win over Tianjin Jinmen Tigers. Goals from Brazilian forward Leo, Wang Shenchao, and Gabrielzinho - along with an own goal by Tianjin's Xie Weijun - powered the rout. Portuguese midfielder Xadas converted a late penalty to salvage a consolation goal for the hosts.
