The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government values and supports the deepening of exchanges and cooperation between Liaoning and Hong Kong, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said on Wednesday.
Lee made the remark during his meeting with Secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee Hao Peng at Government House to exchange views on strengthening Hong Kong's ties with Liaoning.
Lee said the prospects of cooperation between the two places are broad and promising, adding that the Beijing Office and Liaoning Liaison Unit of the HKSAR government will continue to serve as a bridge to promote exchanges in such areas as economic and trade, culture and arts, and youth development.

Noting that the economic and trade relations between Liaoning and Hong Kong have always been close, Lee said that SAR has been the largest source of foreign direct investment in Liaoning, with the total investment from Hong Kong enterprises exceeding $115 billion by the end of 2023.
Lee welcomed more Liaoning enterprises to continue leveraging Hong Kong's unique advantages of enjoying strong support of the country and being closely connected to the world under "one country, two systems", and to use Hong Kong as the prime platform for local enterprises to go global and attract foreign investments.

Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan Kwok-ki; Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang Kwok-wai; and Director of the Chief Executive's Office Carol Yip Man-kuen also attended the meeting.
