Chinese shares lower at midday Thursday

BEIJING - China's major stock indices were lower in the morning session Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.27 percent to 3,009.76 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.17 percent to 9,111.02 points at midday.
