US stocks close mixed

 NEW YORK - US stocks ended mixed on Thursday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 65.11 points, or 0.17 percent, to 38,647.1. The S&P 500 added 12.71 points, or 0.23 percent, to 5,433.74. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 59.12 points, or 0.34 percent, to 17,667.56.
