Lei Chong-in, deputy coordinator of the consultative committee in the Central District, told local media that Xia was very concerned about youth affairs, the elderly and the current employment situation.

Xia wants consultative committees to work together to carry out more care work in the community, and fulfill their duties of being bridges between residents and the government, Lei said.

Another community advisor, Tai Ka-peng, said Xia encouraged members to improve themselves, and seize the opportunities provided to Macao by the central government, such as the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

After meeting with community representatives, Xia visited government headquarters to listen to a report from Macao Chief Executive Ho Iat-Seng, and communicate with other government officials.
