Bangladesh, Brazil sign agreement to boost bilateral & commercial ties

DHAKA - Bangladesh and Brazil have signed an agreement for further strengthening the bilateral and commercial ties during the first foreign minister-level visit from Brazil to Bangladesh.
The visiting Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira signed the Basic Agreement on Technical Cooperation with his Bangladeshi counterpart Hasan Mahmud after a bilateral meeting in Dhaka on Sunday.
"We had a very good and successful discussion on different issues," Mahmud told a joint media briefing after the meeting.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of increasing cooperation and exchanges in the fields of agriculture, livestock, science, technology and innovation, education, climate change and energy transition, among others.
The Brazilian foreign minister arrived here Sunday on a two-day official visit.
