KYIV/RIYADH - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud discussed ways to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine during their meeting in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine's presidential press service reported Tuesday.

In particular, the parties talked about the preparations for a peace summit of world leaders designed to bring peace to Ukraine.

The two leaders discussed the content of the summit and possible steps for the restoration of security for "Ukraine, the whole of Europe and all the peoples around the world".

Last week, the head of the Ukrainian President's Office Andriy Yermak said that Kyiv would invite representatives of more than 160 countries to participate in the peace summit, which is due to take place in Switzerland soon.

The visit to Saudi Arabia aimed to discuss peace prospects, the exchange of prisoners, and the areas of economic cooperation and potential involvement of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction efforts, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter

The two sides also exchanged their views on Ukraine's Peace Formula.

Zelensky, who arrived in Saudi Arabia for a working visit earlier in the day, thanked the crown prince for the advice on speeding up the process of implementing some points of the Peace Formula.

The visit aimed to discuss peace prospects, the exchange of prisoners, and the areas of economic cooperation and potential involvement of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction efforts, Zelensky said on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

"We discussed the Peace Formula's points and the progress that can be made in implementing them. Saudi Arabia's leadership can assist in finding equitable solutions," Zelensky said. Ukraine's Peace Formula calls for the full withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.

In another post on X, the Ukrainian president noted that Saudi Arabia "has already contributed to the release of our people. I am confident this meeting will also yield results".

Zelensky "expressed appreciation and thanks for the efforts exerted by the Kingdom in this regard", according to the report.
