HONG KONG – Temperatures in the urban areas of Hong Kong are expected to drop to 13 degrees Celsius early next week, and even lower in the New Territories, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

The HKO said the temperatures in the city will range from 13 C to 17 C next Tuesday and 13 C to 19 C the following day. In the New Territories, Ta Kwu Ling and Shek Kong could see the mercury plummet to as low as 9 C next Wednesday.

Temperatures will fall appreciably in the region with a few rain patches as the intense northeast monsoon will bring dry and rather cool weather to the coastal areas of Guangdong early next week, the Observatory said

The colder weather starts on Saturday, when a cold front is expected to reach southern China, the Observatory said.
