Chinese premier congratulates Spanish PM on re-election

BEIJING — Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday sent a congratulatory message to Pedro Sanchez on his re-election as the prime minister of Spain.

In the message, Li said that since the establishment of their diplomatic ties 50 years ago, China and Spain have always treated each other with sincerity and respect, cared for each other's core concerns and strengthened cooperation in various fields.

He noted that during Sanchez's successful visit to China in March, they had in-depth exchanges, reached broad consensus on deepening and solidifying the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, adding impetus to the growth of bilateral relations.

China attaches great importance to its relations with Spain and is ready to work with Spain to consolidate strategic mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, enhance people-to-people bonds, so as to continuously promote the well-being of their people, and contribute to the healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations, Li added.
