SHANGHAI - Shanghai Disney Resort announced on Tuesday that it is set to open the first Zootopia land at any Disney park in the world on Dec 20.

Based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios movie Zootopia, it will become the eighth themed land in Shanghai Disneyland.

The new land will bring the movie and its characters to life through innovative entertainment, merchandise, food and beverage offerings, a major theme park attraction, and much more, according to the resort.

In the weeks before the land's official opening, its cast members and invited participants will trial selected offerings on specific dates.

Shanghai Disney Resort opened with six themed lands on June 16, 2016. Its seventh land, Disney Pixar Toy Story Land, opened in 2018, making Shanghai Disneyland the fastest-expanding Disneyland in the world.
