BEIRUT - Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Saturday that the security situation in his country "does not warrant concern or panic."
In a statement, Mikati said he had spoken with his security chiefs, and assessed that the situation "in general, does not warrant concern or panic."
At least 13 people, most of them militants, were killed and dozens of people injured in armed clashes between the mainstream faction Fatah and hardline Islamists in the Ain Al-Helweh Palestinian refugee camp since early morning on July 30.
Mikati said that political and security contacts to address the issue have made advancements, and matters are currently under close monitoring to ensure stability and prevent any threat to local residents and foreign tourists.
