Kwan kwa, a traditional Chinese wedding gown embroidered with dragon and phoenix designs, has deep roots in China. Legend has it that the kwan kwa became popular during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and while the refined designs varied with changing times, the dragon and phoenix, like loving couples, were never apart.
