HONG KONG — A series of events were held across the city to celebrate the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR on Saturday.

Several museums, including the M+ museum and Hong Kong Palace Museum located in West Kowloon Cultural District, were also open for free to the public.

Calvin Ng, Edmond Tang, Parker Zheng and Andy Chong captured the celebratory mood for China Daily.

Around ten residents from Sheung Shui, Hong Kong organize a celebratory run to mark the 26th anniversary of the HKSAR's establishment on July 1, 2023. The runners gathered at the Reunification Garden in Sheung Shui, dressed in matching outfits and carried both the Chinese national and Hong Kong's regional flags. The 7.1-kilometer route was meticulously planned to showcase the beauty of the North District of the New Territories, taking the runners on a scenic tour around the bustling Sheung Shui town area.
