Highlights of foreign congratulatory messages on Xi’s election as general secretary of CPCCC

Editor’s note: Leaders of political parties and governments as well as heads of state worldwide have sent congratulations to Xi Jinping on his election as general secretary of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Here are some more messages received by Xi, in follow-up to our story published last week.

Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat said he firmly believes that the Chinese people will make great achievements in the new era and make major contributions to world peace and progress.

Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that under Xi’s visionary leadership, China will make greater achievements, realize the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and continue to contribute to global development. The Arab League stands ready to continue to deepen strategic relations with China, he said.

Xi has made important contributions to China’s economic and social development and safeguarding national interests, and enjoys high political prestige and high trust of the entire CPC, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan said, adding that he looks forward to working with Xi to further deepen and strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Philip Edward Davis, leader of the Progressive Liberal Party in the Bahamas and Bahamian prime minister, said the 20th CPC National Congress has drawn up the blueprint for China’s further all-round development, and that he believes that under Xi’s leadership, China will continue to play an important role in international affairs.

Expressing warm congratulations on Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Sefik Dzaferovic said developing relations with China is extremely important for BiH. He said he believes that BiH and China will continue to consolidate and develop their friendly relations in the spirit of mutual respect and appreciation.

President of Cape Verde Jose Maria Neves expressed his willingness to work with Xi to continuously and firmly push forward the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between Cape Verde and China.

Xi’s election fully reflects the Chinese people’s deep pride in the great achievements China has made in the new era and their complete trust in him, said President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera.

The election demonstrates that Xi has the full trust of the CPC members and the Chinese people, and enjoys full recognition for his great leadership and outstanding contributions, said Chad’s Transitional President Mahamat Idriss Deby.

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said he firmly believes that Xi will continue to lead the Chinese people toward prosperity and progress. As good friends and partners, Croatia and China will push forward the development of bilateral relations on all fronts and continuously explore new fields of cooperation, he said.

Commending Xi’s outstanding capability, courage in taking responsibility, and perseverance and selfless work, Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh said Xi has led China to become a global model of development in all aspects.

The 20th CPC National Congress has charted the course of future development for the Chinese people, said Dominican President Luis Abinader, adding that the Dominican government will make unremitting efforts to realize the goal of common development as well as shared peace and progress.

Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde expressed her firm belief that under the strong and wise leadership of the CPC, the major decisions made at the 20th CPC National Congress will be successfully implemented and that China’s goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects will surely be achieved, with positive influence on the world.

Extending his sincere and warm congratulations to Xi on his election, Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo wished Xi success in leading the new historical journey of China.

Irakli Garibashvili, a member of the Political Council of the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party and Georgian prime minister, said he believes that under Xi’s leadership, the CPC will certainly achieve the goals set by the 20th CPC National Congress, so as to inject new impetus into China’s further prosperity and development.

Guyanese President Irfaan Ali wished the Chinese people a better future under Xi’s leadership, saying he looks forward to working with Xi to draw a more magnificent blueprint for cooperation between the two countries.

Iraq-China cooperation has been fruitful and will make new contributions to both countries’ efforts to realize development and stability and improve the well-being of their people, said Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid.

Mizuho Fukushima, head of the Social Democratic Party of Japan, extended her heartfelt congratulations to Xi on his election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, expressing her belief that the CPC will lead the people to forge ahead on the new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects, and expecting the CPC to make greater contributions to promoting world peace and stability.

Kiribati President Taneti Maamau expressed his belief that under Xi’s leadership, the great Chinese people will advance the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics in an all-round way in the next five years and beyond, and achieve common prosperity and modernization.

Lesotho Prime Minister Sam Matekane, who is also the leader of the Lesotho political party Revolution For Prosperity, said Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee shows the trust of the Chinese people in him, adding that his party will spare no effort to cooperate with the CPC at all levels.

Liberia cherishes the mutually beneficial partnership with China and looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with Xi, said Liberian President George Weah in his congratulations to Xi.

Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya Mohamed Menfi expressed his sincere congratulations to Xi upon his election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, saying Xi’s mission will have a profound impact on international and regional relations.

Calling China a close friend and reliable development partner, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said he believes that under General Secretary Xi Jinping’s leadership, the friendship and close cooperation between the two countries, which have lasted for half a century, will be further strengthened and better benefit both countries and their people.

Under Xi’s leadership, the Chinese people have made great achievements in realizing their country’s all-round development and modernization, and earned a prominent position in the world, said Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani.

President of the Federated States of Micronesia David W. Panuelo said that as Xi leads China forward, he looks forward to deepening his friendship with Xi for the common benefit of the two governments and the people of the two countries.

Nepal attaches great importance to developing all-round relations with the CPC, the Chinese government and people, said President of the Nepali Congress party and Nepali Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, adding that he looks forward to working closely with Xi and the CPC to enhance the time-honored mutually beneficial and friendly relations between the two countries.

Patrice Trovoada, leader of the Independent Democratic Action party in Sao Tome and Principe, expressed his belief that under Xi’s strong leadership, China will speed up its pace of building a modern socialist country in all respects, so as to better cope with the current complex international situation, play an important role in global governance and work for a more balanced, secure, peaceful and united world.

Sending congratulations to Xi on his election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud said he wishes the friendly Chinese people continuous development and progress.

Xi’s election fully demonstrates his outstanding leadership as well as the trust and confidence the Chinese people and the CPC have in him, said President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan. He expressed the belief that under Xi’s leadership, the Chinese people will certainly achieve the development goals set by the CPC, forge ahead on the road of building China into a great modern socialist country, and advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts.

Lee Hsien Loong, secretary-general of the People’s Action Party and prime minister of Singapore, said he believes that under Xi’s outstanding leadership, China will be able to move forward toward its long-term goals, overcome challenges and achieve lasting stability and prosperity. Lee stressed that he looks forward to working with Xi to further strengthen Singapore-China relations.

Manasseh Sogavare, prime minister of Solomon Islands and leader of the OUR Party, said he would like to offer the warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to Xi on his election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Expressing confidence that under Xi’s leadership, China will make new great achievements, Sogavare said Solomon Islands will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy and deepen cooperation with the Chinese side to benefit the people of the two countries.

Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou said he firmly believes that Uruguay-China relations will surely achieve greater development thanks to the solid political, economic, cultural and cooperative relations the two countries enjoy.
