HONG KONG – Thirty-six outstanding women were honored at the fourth Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneurs Awards presentation ceremony, which was held on Friday at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong.

On the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneur Association, president Katherine Cheung reviewed the association’s achievements in the past decade and shared her vision for the future.

A number of special awards were created to crown outstanding achievements of women in different fields and to highlight their achievements and contributions in different sectors of society

Established in 2016 by the GBWEA, the awards recognize the outstanding performances and achievements of accomplished women entrepreneurs, and aim to commend their entrepreneurial spirit and encourage more women to start their own businesses.

All 36 recipients of this year’s awards have put in unremitting efforts to achieve business success in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To select worthy winners, factors that were taken into consideration included entrepreneurial spirit, business ethics and social responsibility of participants, as well as the performance of their businesses or organizations.

The presenters at the ceremony came from a wide range of sectors with a wealth of leadership experience and insight. They cheered every female entrepreneur who has enjoyed success by dint of their wisdom and perseverance, and encouraged more women to strive for business success.

A number of special awards were created to crown outstanding achievements of women in different fields and to highlight their achievements and contributions in different sectors of society.

These include the Business Excellence Award, the Art and Culture Entrepreneur Award, the Technology Innovation Award, and the Greater China Business Award, the Power of Next Award, the Z35 Awards, the Sustainability Award, and the Philanthropy Award.

“Celebrating our 10th anniversary, we will roll out a series of events this year, including Child Care Month and ‘Friends of the Road’ charity screening. ” said president Cheung. “I hope to see GBWEA advancing to a new level in the future.”

She also announced the inauguration of a youth committee, which will aim to serve a growing population of young women who have emerged and excel in the bold new age of technology.

GBWEA was the first trade organization in Hong Kong to aim to bring together businesswomen from diverse occupations. It is committed to helping members build business networks and develop business platforms in China, and is keen on becoming a bridge of communication between various departments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government.
