CAIRO - China clinched the 50m pistol mixed team gold and bronze medals at the 2022 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championships here on Monday evening.
In the 13-round gold medal match, Chinese Olympic gold medalist Jiang Ranxin and her teammate Zhang Bowen beat Mongolian pair Munkhzul Tsogbadrakh/Davaakhuu Enkhtaivan 17-9.

Zhang, 26, said they were confident they could make it and win another gold for China.
"Although we had a few poor shots, we could win and I am very happy about that," he added.
"As long as we have strong cooperation as a team, we can win in the end," Zhang told Xinhua after the awarding ceremony, noting that the strong support of his country and team officials is behind China's outstanding performance in the ISSF World Championships.

Chinese pair Li Xue/Liu Jinyao got the bronze medal after another 17-9 win over Georgian mother-son duo Nino Salukvadze and Tsotne Machavariani.
China is leading the medal tally of the Championships, garnering 27 gold, 16 silver and 15 bronze medals so far and earning all eight possible Olympic quota spots at the big event in Cairo.
The ISSF competitions offers 32 spots, evenly split to eight Olympic individual events, as a part of the qualification process for Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Amr Abdel-Azem, a referee at the Egyptian Shooting Federation and the spokesman of the ISSF World Championships in Cairo, said, "the Chinese team always prepares very well for the championships."

"The domination of the Chinese team continues due to the well preparation and the transfer of expertise from senior to junior generations, making the Chinese team always distinguished in the ISSF championships," the Egyptian referee told Xinhua at the shooting range.
The 2022 ISSF World Championships for Rifle and Pistol is running from October 12 to 28 at Egypt International Olympic City complex in Cairo.
