GENEVA - Chinese striker Zhang Linyan scored in her debut at the Swiss women's football league Nationalliga A to help the Grasshopper FC Zurich beat Zurich Frauen 2-0 on Saturday.

Striker Zhang Linyan, who was on loan withthe Grasshopper FC Zurich for a year, started the 3rd-round match and scored in the 50th minute to seal the victory, as the Grasshopper collected the maximum nine points to lead the standings

The 21-year-old Chinese played for the Chinese Women's Super League club Wuhan Jianghan University FC before joining the Grasshopper this summer.

She delivered a stunning performance in the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup final in February.

Zhang scored her maiden goal for the national team to level the game in the 71st minute, helping China complete a 3-2 comeback victory over South Korea. She was also named the Future Star of the final.

"Her skills, agility with and without the ball, game reading, and international experience are all her strengths," said Grasshopper's general manager Lara Dickenmann upon her signing in July.
