BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to Jordanian King Abdullah II over the centenary of the founding of Jordan, wishing Jordan prosperity and its people happiness and health.

Xi said the Chinese side believes that the Jordanian people will surely overcome it under the leadership of the king

Xi pointed out that in recent years, China-Jordan relations have developed smoothly, with growing political mutual trust between the two countries and steadily advancing pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the two countries have helped each other and joined hands to fight the epidemic, Xi said.

The Chinese side firmly supports Jordan's fight against the epidemic and believes that the Jordanian people will surely overcome it under the leadership of the king, Xi said.

Xi said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Jordan relations and is willing to make joint efforts with the king to promote the comprehensive and in-depth development of the China-Jordan strategic partnership and bring benefits to the two countries and peoples.
