Hong Kong stocks close 2.18% higher

HONG KONG - Hong Kong stocks closed up 578.62 points, or 2.18 percent higher, at 27,147.11 points on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 26,670.97 and 27,159.47. Turnover totaled HK$153.32 billion (about US$19.78 billion).
