Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning reiterated on Monday China's opposition to attacks on civilians and civilian facilities following a fresh strike on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Speaking at a regular news briefing, Mao said China has urged the parties concerned to avoid actions that could escalate regional tensions, resolve differences and disputes through dialogue and negotiations, and restore regional peace and stability at the earliest opportunity.

The attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport on Sunday killed a Pakistani resident and injured 11 others, according to Saudi authorities. It came a day after another deadly attack claimed by Yemen's Houthis.
