BEIJING – Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.01 percent to 3,927.18 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.45 percent higher at 14,354.31 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices stood at around 2.14 trillion yuan ($315.27 billion), down from 2.55 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to co-packaged optics, optical fiber, memory chips and printed circuit boards led the gains, while those in sectors including electric power, film and television, dairy and Chinese liquor were among the top decliners.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.12 percent on Friday to close at 3,626.3 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 0.79 percent higher at 2,020.45 points.
