BEIJING - China urges all relevant parties to the raging Iran conflict to work in the same direction and create conditions for launching truly meaningful and sincere peace talks, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.
Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a related query, adding China is ready to continue playing a constructive role in the above-mentioned endeavor.
China has emphasized time and again that the prolongation of the war does not serve any party's interests, and continuing it will only lead to more casualties and unnecessary losses, as well as further spillover of the situation, Lin noted.

He said that the top priority is to actively promote peace and facilitate talks, and seize opportunities to work toward ending hostilities.
"China supports all efforts for the de-escalation of the situation," Lin added.
