Death toll rises to 66 from Colombian plane crash

BOGOTA - The death toll has risen to 66 from a military aircraft crash on Monday in the southwestern Colombian province of Putumayo, the Colombian military said.

According to the latest figures, of the 128 people on board, the crash also left 57 injured, 4 missing and one person unharmed.

The military initially said that the downed transport plane, a C-130 Hercules, was carrying 114 passengers and 11 crew members.

Colombian Aerospace Force Commander Carlos Silva said an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the crash.
