The just-concluded fourth edition of “My Hong Kong Story” English short video competition received 110 submissions telling diverse stories on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Themed “The GBA Story Through My Lens”, the competition was held successfully by the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The submissions tell the stories about economic linkages in the Bay Area, shedding light on various ethnic groups living in the 11-city cluster, the entrepreneurial journey of Hong Kong youth and innovative achievements being implemented in the GBA.

Addressing the award ceremony on Thursday, Hua You, deputy commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the HKSAR, said behind every shot lay the video creators’ love for the HKSAR and the Greater Bay Area, while every line of English narration presented a cultural resonance that transcended language and time.
“It is their efforts and creations that have allowed the world to see a vivid, diverse, and vibrant Hong Kong, the harmonious coexistence of the ‘nine cities and two SARs’ in the Greater Bay Area, the powerful practice of ‘one country, two systems’ and the vigorous vitality of Chinese-style modernization,” said Hua.
They have also made "My Hong Kong Story" not only a competition, but also a cultural bridge connecting Hong Kong with the world and conveying the voice of China, he added.

Ten of the video submissions were selected as winning entries, generating enthusiastic responses from the public and garnering over 4 million views and more than 40,000 likes and comments on Facebook.
Encouraging participants to make good use of new thinking and new methods to tell compelling stories, he expressed his hope that more people would record the times and illuminate the future with creativity, so that the world can better understand the HKSAR and the nation.
