BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.36 percent to 3,890.45 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.66 percent higher at 13,140.21 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.73 trillion yuan (about $245.22 billion).
Stocks related to aircraft manufacturing, furniture and hospitality led the gains, while precious metals and glass-related shares saw major declines.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.49 percent to close at 3,122.24 points Friday.
