Fujian coast guard conducts routine patrol in waters near Kinmen

BEIJING -- The Fujian coast guard on Thursday conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in waters near Kinmen in accordance with the law, said a spokesperson for a regional bureau of China Coast Guard.

During the operation, the coast guard adopted measures including formation sailing, identification and verification, and radio warnings to tighten control over key areas, said Zhu Anqing, spokesperson for the East China Sea Bureau of the China Coast Guard.

The Fujian coast guard has organized fleet formations to continuously intensify law enforcement patrols in waters near Kinmen since the beginning of this year, the spokesperson said.

Such measures have safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests as well as the lives and property of fishermen on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and effectively maintained normal navigation and operational order in the waters near Kinmen, Zhu added.
