Four people were arrested by the city’s anti-graft watchdog on Sunday for allegedly inciting others not to vote or to cast invalid votes at the 2025 Legislative Council General Election.
The poll, which will return a total of 90 lawmakers, kicked off on Sunday morning and will end at 11:30 pm.
The four, aged between 33 and 41, allegedly left comments on social media platforms to incite others not to vote or to cast invalid votes, in contravention of section 27A of the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance.
In a statement, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) reiterated that publicly inciting others not to vote or to cast invalid votes during the election period is a violation of section 27A of the ECICO.
