OSLO -- Norway will provide 5 billion Norwegian kroner ($495 million) of military support to Ukraine, the Norwegian government announced on Wednesday.

The new military support packages, under the "Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List" initiative, will cover critical equipment, including long-range 155mm artillery shells, missiles for HIMARS systems, and guided bombs, said a government press release.

Norway will collaborate with Germany, Poland and the Netherlands in delivering the aid.

The initiative is a program through which NATO allies fund military assistance for Ukraine drawn directly from the US weapon stockpiles.

The Norwegian government also pledged to maintain a high level of support for Ukraine in 2026.
