DHAKA -- Bangladesh will implement a nine-day special security plan for the 13th general election slated for February next year, Bangladesh's Home Affairs Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Saturday.
The plan could be adjusted based on how the situation develops in the country, he said.

He said that 30,000 Bangladeshi army soldiers were currently on duty, and the number will increase to almost 100,000 to provide security for the election.
Other security forces will also help keep everything safe and under control during the election, the adviser added.
The general election will be held in February 2026 for the first time since a mass uprising toppled then prime minister Sheikh Hasina last year.
